CHRISTMAS IS COMING…

The festive season is upon us and As Andy Williams sung ‘it’s the most wonderful time of the year’, and we can only agree with him! Whether you are looking for a nice winter stroll along Morecambe’s infamous promenade finished with a glass of mulled wine (in Aspect bar of course) or you fancy watching a musical show or play. You won’ be short of things to do this Christmas in Morecambe and Lancaster. We have put together a couple of ideas that we think you’d love if you are planning a visit!

 

1. Festive Afternoon Tea at Aspect Bar and Bistro

So you might have had a long day of Christmas shopping in the Arndale Shopping Centre, or you have been to visit the landmarks of Morecambe such as the infamous ‘Eric Morecambe statue’ and the award winning Tern Project featuring wildlife sculptures. Well, what better treat than a festive afternoon tea with us in the Aspect Bar overlooking the picturesque views of Morecambe Bay and The Lakeland fells? Our cakes, scones and sandwiches are all freshly home-made every day. Also included is a lovely glass of mulled wine bellini!

2. ‘The Station’ Promenade Indoor Christmas Market

Back by popular demand, are the magical Christmas markets inside the historical Station building. Enjoy looking around the craft stalls, or perhaps indulge in the delicious food and drink stalls. Live music from a festive choir will be playing throughout the day!

Perfect for getting into the festive spirit!

Christmas Markets dates are: Sunday 1st December, Monday 9th December, Monday 16th December, Monday 23rd December.

3. Christmas Carol Concerts in the Ashton Memorial in Williamson Park

Celebrate Christmas starting from Friday 13th December until Friday 20th December at Williamson Park in Lancaster. With different choirs and singers performing one each date you will be spoilt for choice.

Doors open from 7pm and tickets are priced at £10.00pp which includes a mince pie and a glass of mulled wine!

 

4. Shows at The Platform, Morecambe

 

Tuesday 10th December: ‘A Christmas Carol’ As told by Jacob Marley

The Platform is a superb venue located within the restored Edwardian railway station on Morecambe promenade.

Visit this hub of entertainment to see the award-winning stage adaption of a ‘Christmas Carol’ as told by Jacob Marley, Scrooge’s deceased business partner.

 

Or what about: ‘The upbeat Beatles’on Saturday 7th December? This is the perfect show for beatles lovers. They provide fantastic vocals to tell the story of the beatles evolution.

5. ‘Lancaster on Ice’

Just a 15 minute drive away or quick train ride from Morecambe train station, this award winning winter haven is a perfect day out for all the family…located in Dalton Square it is more than just an outdoor ice skating rink! It also plays host to a cute tipi tent so you can can warm up with a delicious hot chocolate or treat yourself to a cold beer or mulled wine! The ice skating rink sits in the heart of Lancaster city centre, perfect for having a wander around the cobbled streets!

6. Christmas Tree Festival 2019 at Morecambe Parish Church

Are you looking for some inspiration for decorating your Christmas tree this year? Well look no further, The Parish Church will be hosting a festival to showcase their artistic talent! There will also be a craft fair, live entertainment and refreshments running throughout the weekend.
